Adrienne Cooper, renowned singer and Marilyn Lerner, famed Canadian pianist/improvisor will perform an evening of songs and piano improvisations, traditional tunes reinterpreted and new compositions by Lerner and David Wall to poetry by Anna Margolin, Rokhl Korn, Avrom Reisin, and new work by Beyle Schaechter Gottesman.

Montreal born pianist/improviser Marilyn Lerner is new to New York audiences. She is famed in Canada as jazz/new music improvisor, has recorded extensively over the past ten years, written music for film, theatre, radio and television. She has performed with the likes of Jane Bunnett, Gerry Hemingway, Steve Lacy, and Tito Puente. Recent recordings include: Special Angel, her duo with jazz legend Sonny Greenwich, and a new solo CD of improvised piano entitled Luminance. This summer she will teach and perform in klezmer workshop/festivals in both Kiev and Weimar, and will be performing in Copenhagen and at the Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver jazz Festivals.
