World-renowned klezmer fiddler Alicia Svigals, a founder of the Klezmatics whose impressive solo career includes collaborations and performances with Tony Kushner, Itzhak Perlman, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, and many others, brings her sizzling party band to Satalla for an evening of high energy fun. She'll be leading an all-star lineup including the great klezmer trombonist Brian Bender, drummer Aaron Alexander (also of Hasidic New Wave), accordionist Art Bailey (alumn of the Klezmer Conservatory Band), and bassist Marty Confurius (of Andy Statman's original group). Alicia has appeared on David Letterman, MTV, Good Morning America, PBS' Great Performances, and NPR's Prairie Home Companion, Weekend Edition and New Sounds, and the critics have raved: "stunningly gifted" "brilliant fiddling" "dazzling virtuosity" "without question the greatest living exponent of the klezmer fiddle."
