Stevie’s Cousins is a homegrown family band, where playing music together is as much a part of daily family life as eating breakfast and washing the dishes. Coming all the way from their living room in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this family trio has performed together for many years as part of larger professional Klezmer and Balkan ensembles, but they will be performing in public on their own for the first time by request of their cousin Steve Myrick (hence the name of the band). Stevie’s Cousins has put together an eclectic and enjoyable evening of their favorite ethnic music which includes: Klezmer music (East European Jewish instrumental music), Serbian-Romani (Gypsy) folk songs, a few Celtic and European folktunes, folk songs from Bulgaria and Macedonia, Yiddish and Sephardic (Judeo-Spanish) folk songs, and other music from around the world.
"Stevie’s Cousins" is:
Beth Cohen - violin, mandolin, vocals and mom.
Randy Edmunds - guitar, vocals and dad.
Jamie Cohen-Edmunds - alto sax, vocals and daughter.
