Toronto's Beyond the Pale is one of Canada's leading contemporary klezmer ensembles. Energetic and lively, Beyond the Pale's explosive acoustic sound is inspired by a wide range of cross-cultural influences, from Balkan, Klezmer, Gypsy and Romanian music, to bluegrass, jazz, reggae and funk. Combining virtuosity and consummate musicianship with excellent showmanship and sheer exuberance, Beyond the Pale's dynamic live performances have delighted audiences at major music festivals, theatres, and clubs across Canada and in parts of the US. The band features Eric Stein (mandolin), Martin van de Ven (clarinet), Milos Popovic (accordion), Bogdan Djukic (violin), and Bret Higgins (bass).
