Dive into the rambunctious rhythmic grooves and lose yourself in the intimate improvisations of Deep Minor—the latest project of all original compositions from reedman/bandleader Alex Kontorovich. To create this high energy quartet, Kontorovich joins forces with three premiere world jazz musicians: Brandon Seabrook (guitar/banjo), Reuben Radding (bass), and Aaron Alexander (drums). Mixing funk, Afro-Cuban, klezmer and Balkan influences, Deep Minor is the most exciting new must-see group to hit the New York jazz scene.

PERSONNEL
Alex Kontorovich (Leader, Clarinet/Sax) was born in Russia
and currently resides in NYC. He has toured all over North
America, Europe, and Israel with various ensembles
including Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-Stars, Aaron
Alexander's Midrash Mish Mosh, the Klez Dispensers, and
King Django's Roots and Culture Band. He has been a
featured guest performer with prestigious ensembles
including the Klezmatics, the Toronto Philharmonia, and
with klezmer hip-hop maestro SoCalled, he is also on the
faculty of the KlezKamp and KlezKanada festivals. Only in
his 20's and already known in world music and jazz scenes
as a kickin' sideman, Kontorovich sets out on his own with
his newest project Deep Minor.
