Steve Weintraub will be giving a dance workshop from 4-5:30, and leading dance after the concert.
We're also treating this as the unofficial release party for HOPKELE, my collaboration with Kapelye- 8 great cuts all with perfect tempo, form and length for dancing. Its available now on CD Baby, and coming to iTunes and other download services. Notes to the dances will be available at the Kapelye web site, and also (Thanks, Helen!) at Helen Winkler's website.

up? Then make your way to KLEZFEST! on Long Island at Dix
Hills Jewish Center, 555 Vanderbilt Pkwy., Dix Hills, NY,
Sun., June 4, 2006 7:00pm The show features the world-
renowned band Kapelye (Ken Maltz, Pete Sokolow, and Eric
Berman), joined by klezmer all-stars Cookie Segelstein,
Alex Kontorovich, Gennady Gutkin, and Michael Spielzinger.
First half showcases the fabulous talents of Yiddish
singers Joanne Borts, Chazzn Moishe Bear, the DHJC
Kinderchor, and surprise guests. The second half presents
Yiddish dance master Steve Weintraub, who will perform and
lead a Music and Dance Party. He will also give a pre-
concert workshop at the synagogue from 4:00-5:30pm.
General admission is $25 and up (kids tix are $10) and
refreshments will be available.
