Peri Smilow & Joshua Nelson + Jeff Klepper, Sharon, MA, Dec 9
On Saturday December 9th at 8 p.m., my synagogue, TEMPLE SINAI of SHARON, MA is hosting an End-of-year-balance-the-budget-get-ready-for- Chanukah-hunker-down-for-winter-heal-the-world-sing-your-guts-out- concert featuring two of my favorite singer/songwriters who are also treasured friends: PERI SMILOW, whose velvety, powerful and captivating voice and has brought thousands of people together in song and social action across the country; and JOSH NELSON, co- founder of Yom Hadash, now leader of his own group, The Josh Nelson Project, incredible singer and multi-instrumentalist, who is presently zooming upward into the top rank of Jewish contemporary musical artists. And, yes, JEFF KLEPPER, yours truly, is included at no extra charge, which is why we call this concert WHEN THREE STARS APPEAR. "Unplugged" might best describe the music, but with three voices, three guitars, piano, bass, mandolin and other surprises, who knows what might happen? The $36 general admission includes free finger-food before the show and a (cash) wine bar. A color flyer with pretty pictures and all the details is at our website:
www.temple-sinai.com/when_3_stars_appear/Temple Sinai is about a half-hour south of Boston off Interstate 95, (just south of 128). There's directions at the website and lots of parking in back of the shul. Don't worry about it being sold out, if enough folks show up we'll just open the sanctuary wall a bit... Hope to see you there.
