- Jul 9–15: Concert Project DIASPORA REDUX
This summer, Weimar will be home to a New Jewish Music project bringing together seven internationally recognized and highly individualistic musicians: Aaron Alexander (percussion, New York), Alan Bern (keyboards, Berlin), Paul Brody (trumpet, Berlin), Alex Kontorovich (sax, clarinet, New York), Cesar Lerner (keyboards, Buenos Aires), Martin Lillich (bass, Berlin) and Marcelo Moguilevsky (clarinets, Buenos Aires). After a week of creating and rehearsing new music, the Diaspora Redux band performs its world premiere concert in Weimar on July 15, setting the tone for the Advanced Instrumental Workshop beginning on July 18. - Jul 14–15: Symposium: Klezmer and other "other" musics
