The Yiddish language is surprisingly easy to learn, and it opens the door to a culture rich in expressions, stories, history, and humor. Taught by world-renowned teachers and Yiddishists Pesakh Fiszman and Dorothea Greve, in addition to language classes the program includes participation in the song workshop and evening song and word performances. - Aug 2–Aug 9: Yiddish Song Workshop
Join Grammy-award winning Lorin Sklamberg (Klezmatics, Nigunim), Alan Bern (Brave Old World), Rosi Dasch (Duo Wajlu), Katharina Müther (Duo Wajlu), and Fabian Schnedler (Schikker wi Lot, fayvish) for classes in repertoire, style, arranging, accompanying, master classes, ensemble projects and evening singing sessions focused on the meeting between traditional and contemporary Yiddish vocal repertoires. Both vocalists and instrumental accompanists are welcome to join.
