Free concert by di bostoner klezmer on Thursday, 7/17, 6:30 p.m. at New Bedford Whaling National Park, 33 William Street, New Bedford (for directions: www.nps.gov/nebe/planyourvisit/directions.htm

There's a Jewish connection to this area's whaling—a shnayder (shoemaker) supplied materials, and after the demise of the industry, the whaling captains used to hang around his shop and reminisce. We'll play original tunes composed by all three members (a world-premier of one of them!) and promise mostly rollicking and a couple of reflective moments.
