Jeremiah Lockwood, son of composer Larry Lockwood and grandson of the legendary Cantor Jacob Konigsberg, teams up with an all-star cast of musicians who have played with the likes of Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Antibalas and more. Drawing on a wild blend of influences—including pre-war master cantors, Malian guitar, Saharan beats, Afro-pop and the good ol' blues—The Sway Machinery delivers a sonic experience that knocks out a joyful rhythm at the gates of prayer.
"Lockwood's arrangements of Jewish cantorial songs whip up a frenzy wherein all the world's music can do that which music does best: celebrate." —Village Voice
