The Jewish Folk Arts festival Concert honoring Sue Roemer will take place on Saturday night, November 21, at Tifereth Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C..
The evening will feature the Fabrangen Fiddlers, women cantors including Debbie Katchko and Natasha Hirschhorn. Sue Roemer, a Yiddish folk singer and cantor, is being honored for her 40 years of service to the Jewish people. A member of the Fabrangen Fiddlers, she is no longer able to perform due to illness. The recording first issued by the band in 1977 will be re-issued as a CD at the concert. On the album Sue sings Zol Zayn by Gebirtig and other folk and liturgical selections.
