Pomegranates and Figs, Berkeley, CA, 5 Dec 2010

logoI hope you can join us on the fifth night of Hanukah (Dec 5) for this this celebratory triple bill, 3pm at Zellerbach Hall:

  1. From Winnipeg: North End Klezmer Project celebrates the release of their brand new CD Transylvania Avenue.
  2. From the Bay Area: Teslim (yours truly on fiddle and Gari Hegedus on oud and other strings). We'll become Teslim Extreme when joined by very special guests Shira Kammen and Julian Smedley on fiddles, percussionist Susu Pampanin and vocalist/cellist Caleb O'Reilly.
  3. To rock the low end, we have the amazing bass clarinet duo Sqwonk featuring Jonathan Russell and Jeff Anderle!

    4. I've written a new piece called Crushed for three violins, two bass clarinets, doumbek and frame drum which we'll premier!

    So come--we'll light the menorah, schmooze, nosh a little and listen to some great music already!
    What's not to like?
