Violinist Steven Greenman and Tsimblist Pete Rushefsky of the "Di Tsvey" ensemble have been invited to perform as part of the "Violins of Hope" performance series on April 15th, 2012 at 7:30pm at the University of North Carolina's Knight Theater.
"Violins of Hope" (April 9th-24th, 2012) is a series of exhibitions, performances, film screenings, and educational programs exploring the history of music and art in the face of oppression. Violinmaker Amnon Weinstein introduces his remarkable Violins of Hope to Charlotte in this concert featuring renowned violinists Shlomo Mintz, Chad Hoopes, and Steven Greenman. Chamber music, traditional klezmer music (including several of Steven's original works), and Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins, with Charlotte Symphony Associate Conductor Jacomo Bairos directing, underscore the message of hope for the future.
