Lori Cahan-Simon and Walt Mahovlich at the Polish-Jewish Friendship Klezmer Happy Hour

Kravitz Delicatessen and Polish Youngstown present the second annual Klezmer night. Celebrate Jewish Life in Old Poland through music, food, beer, and borscht. Live Klezmer music and Jewish foods originating in Poland. Enjoy stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, noodle kugel, homemade borscht, and corned beef while listening to renowned live klezmer musicians.
The entertainment for the evening promises to be spectacular, with two world-renowned performers appearing together. Walt Mahovlich, founder of Cleveland-based eastern European music ensemble Harmonia will accompany famed vocalist Lori Cahan-Simon, whose repertoire includes traditional Yiddish songs focusing on Jewish holidays and also Yiddish standards. The two artists have worked together for over ten years on various projects and CDs and their program will include elements from
past performances "Yiddish Around the Year" and "Vessel of Song: The Music of Mikhl Gelbart". Other collaborations include Lori Cahan Simon’s CDs of Yiddish tunes including "Songs My Bubbe Should Have
Taught Me", "Chanukah is Freylekh" and "Vessel of Song: The Music of Mikhl Gelbart". With the program focusing on the Autumn holidays, this will be a family-friendly event complete with references to Hannukah.
