Jewish Heritage Night@Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA, 20 Aug 2013
Federation’s Jewish Heritage Night at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, Aug. 20, is an ideal opportunity to celebrate Jewish music, kosher food and great Phillies baseball with family and friends.
As fans enter the park, they will be treated to performances by Klez with Class, a five-piece group of professional klezmer and jazz musicians featuring lead vocalist Cantor David Green of Congregation Beth Or in Maple Glen. Thirty members of Nashirah, the only auditioned, community-based chorale in the Greater Philadelphia area that performs Jewish and Jewish-themed music, will thrill the crowd with a stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Federation President Sherrie Savett will throw out the first pitch before the start of the 7:05 p.m. matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies. Kosher food will be available for purchase throughout the game at a special kiosk located by the third-base gate. There will be special surprises between innings. Who knows when and where the famed Phillie Phanatic may make his appearance?
Tix available online at: www.jewishphilly.org.
Individuals, synagogue groups or other organizations may also order tickets by calling Matt Kessler, manager of Premium Sales and Services for the Phillies, at 215-463-5000, Ext. 5663. Groups of 25 or more will see their name in lights on the auxiliary message boards during the game.
