Routes of Andalusia takes audiences on a musical journey through a golden age of cultural collaboration to the here-and-now of present-day Toronto. Combining original music with a repertoire of traditional music from the Southern half of the Iberian Peninsula along with Morrocco, Syrian, Turkey, and Greece, Routes of Andalusia demonstrates a masterful blending of styles and epochs - from 9th-century Arabic Muwashahat and Jewish Ladino songs to Roma and Afro-Cuban forms.
This unique musical event features powerhouse singers Mor Karbasi and Roula Said, dancer Anjelica Scannura and a 10-piece ensemble of some of Toronto's finest musicians.
