Join the Portland Jewish Music Jam Session! Open to all!
Meeting twice-monthly at Temple Beth El in Portland
Our next session is Sunday, November 16, from 12 noon to 1:30 PM
With Klezmer and Yiddish Luminary and Student Cantor Jeff Warschauer
Calling all singers and instrumentalists! No previous experience is necessary.
Kids and adults from any background are welcome.
(No, you don't have to be Jewish to sing, play and love Jewish music.)
Kids should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Who:
You! We invite everyone to participate, regardless of vocal or instrumental level, previous experience, background or knowledge. Ages 0 to 120 are welcome. If you are someone who is shy about singing or playing, come anyway. We'll make it work!
What:
Sing and play klezmer music, Hebrew and Yiddish songs, Hasidic tunes and synagogue songs. It's all great music and you will have a wonderful time in a warm and heymish (friendly and cozy} environment.

Jeff Warschauer is internationally renowned as a guitarist, mandolinist, Yiddish singer and educator. He is a member of the Strauss/Warschauer Duo, and was a long-time member of the Klezmer Conservatory Band. Jeff is a Founding Artistic Director of KlezKanada, is on the faculty of Columbia University, and is currently pursuing graduate study in Cantorial music and Modern Jewish Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Jeff is thrilled to have joined Temple Beth El as its Student Cantor.
