Klezmer, die Hochzeits- und Festmusik der osteuropäischen Juden erlebt seit den 70ger Jahren eine weltweite Renaissance und inzwischen werden auch die traditionellen Tänze wiederbelebt. Der größte Teil des Klezmer-Repertoires sind Gemeinschaftstänze. Hora, Sher, Khusidl und Freylekhs bieten mal langsam, mal schnell, schlängelnd und kreiselnd,abwechslungsreiche Formationen. Die Kreis- und Reihentänze,Karre-Formationen und Paartänze beruhen auf einfachen Grundschritten, so dass Neulinge schnell ins Tanzvergnügen einsteigen können.Tänzerische Vorkenntnisse und paarweise Anmeldung sind nichterforderlich. Mit Live-Musik-Begleitung an Akkordeon und Klarinette. Bitte mitbringen: flache Tanz-, Gymnastikg oder Jazz-Dance-Schuhe mit Ledersohle (keine Straßenschuhe) und bequeme Kleidung.

Whether you have some experience as a klezmer player, Yiddish singer or dancer, or are completely new to the style, this hands-on workshop offers a feast of Eastern European Yiddish instrumental, vocal music and dance.
This workshop will be taught with a lively, integrated approach—a marriage of instruments, singing and movement. Working by ear and with written music, we will explore ways to express the full potential of Yiddish music and dance, as individuals and as a group. Daily topics will include Eastern European Jewish modality, klezmer phrasing, articulation and ornamentation, Yiddish song repertoire and style, and Yiddish dance steps, gestures and movement.

Kosten: 20 € (außer ihr habt noch eine 5er oder 10er vom wöchentlichen Kurs, diese behalten ihre Gültigkeit bis sie aufgebraucht sind).
Ihr braucht keine Vorkenntnisse, auch wer noch nie gesungen hat, ist
herzlich willkommen! Freude am Singen genügt völlig. Ihr müsst auch
keine Noten lesen können, denn wir werden viel nach Gehör arbeiten. Es gibt nach dem Singen Noten für „Zummitnachhausenehmen“.

Sowohl für Teilnehmer geeignet, die in Klezmer hineinschnuppern als auch für Teilnehmer, die ihre bestehenden Kenntnisse auffrischen möchten.

Im Rahmen der Veranstaltungreihe "Auschwitz" lädt das Team der Vöhler Synagoge zu Lesung und Musik am 20. August ein. Dann sind Markus Hottgenroth, Annette Maye und Verena Guido zu Gast.
„Die Geige, die ich halte, ist mein Schutzschild geworden", schreibt Simon Láks in seinen Erinnerungen. Er leitete das Männerorchester im Vernichtungslager Auschwitz. Am Samstag, 20. August, liest Schauspieler Markus Hottgenroth aus dem Buch des polnisch-jüdischen Musikers, der den NS-Terror überlebte. Musikalisch umrahmt wird die Lesung von Annette Maye (Klarinette) und Verena Guido (Stimme, Geige, Akkordeon).

Helena was a gifted poet. We would like to thank her niece Judith (Yehudit Shalev Amit) for making the texts available to us.She will join us for the concert together with her sister Nechama Biedermann.

Du spielst bereits seit einiger Zeit Klezmer und möchtest wissen, was denn genau zwischen Tänzer*innen und Musiker*innen passiert, wenn getanzt wird? Dich interessiert wie Du die Tänze begleiten kannst und möchtest dazu die passende Schritte lernen? Dann ist dieser Kurs perfekt für Dich!
Gemeinsam mit dem Akkordeonisten Bartek Stanczyk werden wir erkunden wie Tanz und Musik interagieren.

Ein offenes Kreativprojekt, in dem Kinder und Jugendliche sich in den Weimarer Jugendclubs Waggong und Kramixxo sich selbst nach Herzenslust austoben dürfen. Aus Paletten und anderen Fundstücken wird eine Bühne gebaut für das, was sie selbst in der Woche einstudieren und am Ende stolz der Öffentlichkeit präsentieren dürfen.
